This native bramble is unique in that the flower is purple whereas other Rubus spp. are white. Purple flowering raspeberry will readily spread both by runners and seed so plant with that in mind. Pollinators including bees love flowers and some songbirds will eat the fruit. Unlike most of our native Rubus, purple flowering rapsberry fruit is dry, mealy, and not particularly tasty.
