Prairie willow is a unique medium sized shrub found in full sun from wet to dry soils. Unlike most willows, prairie willow can tolerate dry sandy soils away from water. Growth is not as robust as traditional willows. Flowers are dioecious. Prairie willow attracts butterflies, moths, and birds. Given site tolerance, this is an excellent candiate for home and urban landscapes.
